Your Free WordPress Theme Are not secure! Beware

Have you ever wondered why so a lot of free wordpress theme that can be downloaded easy out there. Moreover Elegant theme that should be paid for use also can be found free. I also have downloaded many free themes provided by blogger out there. But today, I start thinking the benefit that they can earn. Here are the odds that I can think of.

1. They will get free backlink from our site.

2. Theme provided with codes that may be dangerous.

For the first point is not a matter. Theme creator can get free backlink from our blog as a sign of our appreciation for using their theme.

But, for the point number two, is the most significant and will be a big problem with you if you a not careful. Sometime, free theme or premium theme but can be found free are contain “inject-code” or “redirect-code” that can be harmful not only to your blog, but to the blog visitors also.

Usually “inject-code” will inject a virus, or spyware into computers of visitors. This is very dangerous. One day, maybe your blog will be flag as spyware blog from Google or other search engine site.

“Redirect-code” is function to send visitors of your blog to a specified URL. This can be considered as a technique to steal traffic. Whether stolen half of your traffic or all of your traffic is dependent on the stolen code is.

How to solve this problem?

It’s easy.  First you need to install the TAC plugins to your blog. This TAC plugins as to check your theme whether it is safe to use or not. This plugins will check all the source code for the theme, whether in the form of JavaScript and others.

To install this TAC plugins is easy. You can get it through the Plugins page in your WordPress blog by using search keywords “TAC” or even download the plugins direct from developer website at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tac/ and use FTP program to upload that plugins to your hosting. Then go to your wordpress admin panel and activate the plugins.

You can find the TAC option under the appearance menu. When you have found the code that is not desired, you can simply remove it. Thats all.

stumbled across a magazine online called smashing magazine- http://www.smashingmagazine.com- they offer all these free wordpress themes- I like alot of them but I am afraid to download because I don’t want any viruses on my computer- however, they state that “all themes have been manually selected, installed and tested over the last weeks.” Does anybody know what that means? Does that mean they test for spam/virus?

I’ve been looking for free themes for my palm centro and have had no luck. I just switched from a bb pearl and always found tons of themes. Anyone know where to download free themes of any kind, iphone, etc design? Also would my bb pearl themes work on my palm if I synced those?

A friend of mine is trying to create a website for her business. In the past, I hand coded the HTML pages for her and uploaded the stuff. The problem, of course, is that she isn’t familiar with HTML editing or uploading content to the webspace and so can’t update the thing herself.

I’m looking for an online application that would allow her to edit pages on her website directly online. It would allow her to rich-edit, meaning that she can format text and even include images and such.

The closest thing I’ve seen so far to this is WordPress. WordPress almost has all this. And with the themes the community offers, it’s pretty easy to customize the look and feel of the site. The problem is that WordPress is very much oriented towards a “blog” instead of a business website.

Can anyone recommend something like WordPress, but that is more oriented towards a regular (business) website?

    Ideal features:
    - online editing of content, using a rich editor (allowing images, formatted text, etc.)
    - simple interface
    - community offered themes and easy look-and-feel customization
    - robust and secure

    Thanks in advance!
Forgot to mention: Should be FREE, of course.

I’ve googled and googled for free themes. I know I could just pay for them but it’s not like I will have it long before I grow tired of it. I found theme builder but I’m not that good. So any help will be nice. Oh and I know you can download some themes to your computer, how do you put them on your phone?
